Well, I gotta say it’s definitely autumn. I mean Hanoi possesses 4 distinct seasons in a year. In summery months, it’s usually sweltering and stuffy and I’m sure you cannot make it through the summer without an air conditioner. Winter is too cold and it rains a lot in spring. So hands-down, autumn is my go-to season.

The change in the global surface temperature can also exacerbate water shortages in already water-stressed regions, leading to many people now facing the threat of not having enough water on a regular basis.

Well, as you could probably tell, I’m currently residing in Vietnam, which is a tropical country. When it comes to the weather here, for the most part, it’s kinda scorching hot and humid year-round. I mean, there have been reports about the heatwaves of over 40 degrees celsius in Hanoi in recent years during summer. In winter, it used to be frigid but now it’s a bit more pleasant and bearable. And I guess it’s due to global warming.

Câu hỏi: Describe your favorite weather.
I’m going to talk about the kind of weather that I enjoy the most. Being born in southern Vietnam, I’m accustomed to the humid and hot tropical weather though I’m not very fond of it. Instead, whenever I have a chance, I try to escape to places that are chilled and dry. You know, the type of weather that’s suitable for pine trees.
In Vietnam, you can experience this weather in the highlands and in cities such as Da Lat. As I said, I’m used to the tropical weather so I have a low tolerance for cool temperatures. When I visit Dalat or the highlands, I have to wear thick jackets to keep myself warm. I don’t think that this is a disadvantage as it gives me opportunities to pose in interesting garments. I like to sport earmuffs and trench coats, things that I couldn’t wear normally.
Another little thing that I enjoy is breathing in the cooler weather. Because of the low temperature, the vapor in my breaths forms small puffs of fog. When I was younger, I used to imagine that I was a dragon and my breaths were smoke. I have a lot of good feelings and memories too when it comes to my favorite weather. Since I can only be immersed in this kind of weather on vacations when I am relaxed, I associate it with the feeling of relief. I use it as a psychological trick when I’m stressed at work. I often think of this weather to motivate myself and to ease the tension I have at work.

Câu hỏi: Does air pollution affect the weather?
Yes, the weather is severely affected by air quality. As you can see, when the air is polluted, we can expect a smog and gloomy weather in the morning. The sky can be overcast, which might make people feel dreary all day. However, if the weather is cool with breezy winds, they tend to be more relaxed. And a normal thing can make them feel over the moon.

I think there are definitely considerable efforts being devoted to help halt the speed in which the Earth is warming up. Different regulations that aim at curbing carbon dioxide emissions in multiple industries have been put into effect, and a multitude of organizations have been outlining many geoengineering proposals, which are alternative methods to slow global warming.
A lot of progress has been made, sure, but I do think if we want to avoid the grave consequences of global warming in the near future, the governments and businesses need to keep their pledges, as many projects contributing to global warming are still receiving investments.

Well, there can be numerous solutions that help mitigate this issue. On a global scale, governments and businesses should invest in technologies that can harness energy from alternative renewable sources, switching from burning fossil fuels, which tends to emit a huge amount of heat-trapping gasses, to solar energy or biomasses.
On an individual level, people can make simple changes in their daily lives, such as driving less or planting more trees. These solutions, albeit small, can make a big difference if adopted by a large number of individuals.
