Details on Test fees and other fees
You can register through the following methods:
Register directly at IDP offices in Vietnam
Register at the network of official partners of IDP Vietnam
Test takers must submit a request to change the test date using the form here at IDP Vietnam office before 15 days (free of charge) or 8 – 14 days (VND 800,000 fee) prior to the registered test date. Test takers registering within one week before the test date will not be allowed to change the test date.
Test takers are allowed to change the test date only once, and the new test date can be up to 3 months after the original test date. Test takers who have changed the test date will not be allowed to cancel the test.
Test cancellation after registration must be done in writing using the form here and submitted to the IDP Vietnam office 5 weeks prior to the registered test date (not applicable to test takers who have requested a test date transfer). 75% of the test fee will be refunded for valid cancellations. Test takers will receive the refund within 30 working days from the submission date.
Note: Test takers will not be refunded the test fee if they cannot provide the original VAT tax invoice.
Test cancellation within 5 weeks before the test date can only be considered in cases of serious illness (surgery, severe accidents, prolonged hospitalization, etc.). Test takers need to provide a medical record with the round seal of public hospitals, indicating the health condition preventing them from attending the test, to change the test date or receive a 75% test fee refund. Allowed items in the test room:
Original and valid ID/passport that was used to register for the IELTS test; Read more about Identification Document regulations .
Transparent water bottle.
Pencil and eraser will be provided in the test room. Pens of any kind are not allowed in the test.
Items NOT allowed in the test room:
Mobile phones and other electronic devices, watches, wallets/purses;
Writing tools: pencils, ballpoint pens/inks, highlighters, erasable pens;
Draft paper and other document materials;
All types of bags, backpacks, suitcases, document pouches, luggage, pen cases;
Food, chewing gum.
All test takers' belongings are required to be kept in the designated area outside the test room. If a test taker intentionally brings items NOT allowed into the test room or violates the test regulations, they may be suspended from the test. Test takers are advised not to bring valuable items on the test day. The center will not be responsible for any losses that may occur.
Your Test Report Form will be available to you 13 calendar days after your IELTS on paper test date or 3-5 calendar days after IELTS on computer test. You will only receive one copy of your Test Report Form.
On the result day, test takers can check the results online at ielts.idp.com/results/check-your-result from 5:00 PM on the same day and collect the Test Report Form at the IDP office according to the SMS sent from IDP Vietnam.
When collecting Test Report Form, test takers must bring their original ID or passport as registered on the test application form. Official results will not be announced by phone, fax, or email.
Test takers can request home delivery by providing the registered address on the application form via email to firstname.lastname@example.org .
Note: Test results may be delayed if the Examination Board finds it necessary to review the test to ensure accuracy, objectivity, and test security. Test results may be permanently withheld in case of violation of the test regulations or cheating in any form.
Test takers can authorize a relative using the IDP test center's authorization form. Please download the form here , fill in the required information and send it directly to the IDP Vietnam office or via email to email@example.com . After receiving confirmation from the test center, the authorized person can bring their original ID or passport to collect the Test Report Form on behalf of the test taker.
You can apply for a re-mark, known as an Enquiry on Results, at your test center within six weeks of the test date by filling in this form . You must pay an enquiry fee , which will be fully refunded if your band score changes.
Note that IELTS Examiners and markers follow strict assessment guidelines and are regularly monitored. The IELTS testing process has the highest quality control procedures.
Re-sitting the test:
There is no minimum time limit between test attempts, so you can practice more and register for the IELTS test whenever you feel ready.
Within one month from the result date, test takers can request IDP to send a maximum of 5 Test Report Forms to domestic recognising organisations for free. If test takers request to send more than 5 report forms or after the one-month deadline, each request will incur a fee, as detailed here .
The mentioned organisations include Universities/Colleges, Academies, immigration organisations, Embassies, and Consulates. If test takers want to request sending IELTS report forms to a company for employment purposes, test takers need to submit additional verification documents from the company.
Test Report Forms will be sent via EMS within 48 hours (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) from the completion of the request and the additional charge (if any).
If you wish to have specific tax information on your test fee's VAT invoice, kindly provide the tax information via email to our Accounting Department via email on the same day that you make your payment (11.59 p.m. of the day).
Please note that these emails only receive requests and information relating to the issuance of tax invoices. IDP Education Vietnam reserves the right to reject any requests or changes to your tax invoice after the timeframe mentioned.
