It is important that you read and accept the IELTS terms and conditions when you register for the test.
You also receive the terms and conditions in the Information for Candidates brochure, which is included with the application form.
The terms and conditions contain important information, including details of:

test fees and refunds
how IELTS uses your personal information.
When you sign the declaration in the application form or tick the terms and conditions box if you are applying online, you are confirming that you have read and understood the IELTS terms and conditions and agree to abide by them.
Transferring your test date
You can request to transfer their test date:
at least fifteen (15) days before the scheduled test date (Listening, Reading and Writing): free of charge
less than fourteen (14) days and at least eight (08) days before the scheduled test date (Listening, Reading and Writing): an administrative fee of VND 800,000 will be charged
less than seven (07) days before the scheduled test date (Listening, Reading and Writing): no transfers can be arranged, except in the exceptional circumstances stated below.
The transfer test date must be within three (03) months of the original test date.
You can only request to transfer your test date once under all circumstances. If you are unable to attend on the transfer test date, neither a further transfer nor a refund can be given.
If you register for the test within eight (08) days prior to the test date (Listening, Reading and Writing), you will NOT be eligible for test date transfer or test cancellation.
Cancelling your IELTS test
You may cancel your test:
at least five (05) weeks before the scheduled test date (Listening, Reading and Writing): you will be eligible for a refund of 75% of the test fee
less than five (05) weeks before the scheduled test date (Listening, Reading and Writing): you will not be eligible for a refund, except in the exceptional circumstances stated below.
Note that all refund processes will be made within six weeks from the date you submit all required documents. In the event of using credit card for test fee payment, the refund will be processed on the same credit card. Credit card refund times vary by bank and are not included in the refund timescales at IDP Vietnam.
Exceptional circumstances
You may be able to request for an exception to be made to the standard transfer or cancellation policies, with supporting evidence, in cases of:
serious medical conditions which prevent you from attending or performing normally on test day as verified by a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner (does not include minor illness such as a mild cold, except for COVID-19). Medical certificate includes medical report to confirm your health status issued and stamped by a public hospital, hospital admission form, and invoices/receipts issued relating to medical examinations and hospitalisation expenses.
recent family bereavement
hardship/trauma such as victim of crime, victim of a traffic accident
other forms of significant hardship
compulsory military service.
You must submit your exception request in writing to the test centre as soon as such case happens or no later than on the first working day after your scheduled test date. Supporting evidence must be submitted within a maximum of three (03) working days after your scheduled test date. Your test centre will respond to you within seven (07) working days. Requests without supporting evidence cannot be considered.
If your test centre approves your exception request, you will be able to transfer to a new test date free of charge or be eligible for a refund of 75% of the test fee.
If your test centre does not approve your exception request, then the standard transfer and refund policies, detailed above, will apply.
Test centre exceptions
Under certain circumstances outside test centre control, we may have to cancel your test. These circumstances include, but are not limited to, extreme weather conditions, natural disaster, civil unrest and industrial action. In these circumstances, your test centre will provide you with as much notice as possible and give you the choice of either:
a full refund, or;
a transfer to a future test date.
