How to book IELTS?

Yes, you need to submit a colored and readable photo / scan of your valid Passport or Turkish ID card.

I don't have Turkish ID. How can I register for the test?

Accepted Answer

If you are not a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, the only document you can register for the test is your passport. Residence permits, ID cards of other nationalities, or any other documents are not accepted.

How often does the IELTS test take place?

Accepted Answer

IELTS on Computer is available up to 3 times a day, 7 days a week*. And you get your results in 1-5 days. So, you can do your IELTS test when it suits you. Remember, you can register for a IELTS on Computer test no later than 72 hours before the test date.

IELTS on Paper tests up to four times a month. Remember, you can register for IELTS on Paper at the latest 24 hours before the test date in Istanbul and Ankara; for other cities, you have to complete your registration 6 days before the test date.

When can I apply for the IELTS at the latest?

You do not pay an extra fee for late registrations for the IELTS with IDP. For this reason, we allow you to register until the last time if there is a place.

How can I book my test if I do not have an IELTS account?

After finding the test center that suits you best and select your test date, you can make your registration by creating a new user account on the page to which you will be redirected.

I can only see the Listening, Reading and Writing parts in registration page, isn't the Speaking test included in the test fee?

The Speaking test is included in the IELTS fee, but time options for the Speaking test are created separately. IDP IELTS offers the right to choose a separate time for your Speaking test.

When can I get my IELTS results?

Results are announced within 7 days for UKVI IELTS Life Skills, 1-5 calendar days for IELTS on Computer, and 13 calendar days after the test date for IELTS on Paper. However, your results may be subject to a second check by Cambridge Assessment English, in which case it may take longer than the specified day for your result to be announced.

How long IELTS test result is valid?

IELTS Test Report Form is valid for two years. Printing or sending documents that have passed two years even one day cannot be done in any way.

Can you send the results to my phone or email or share my result with me as pdf?

Accepted Answer

No. You will be informed by email when your IELTS results are announced. You can view your result by following the instructions in the email. But you can not download your TRF from the online system. If you need your result as pdf, you can convert the hard copy result you received to pdf yourself. We are not allowed to share results via email, fax, or phone due to security protocol. Your result from your test centre is sent to you only as a hard copy.

How can I see my IELTS results?

You can preview your provisional results online for IELTS on Computer 1 to 5 days after your test date. For IELTS on Paper, you can preview your results online 13 calendar days after your test date, unless the test centre has said otherwise.

Remember that the online result is not an official confirmation of your score. You will receive official confirmation of your score with the Test Report Form mailed to your postal address.

*Attention!

If you have taken the IELTS on Paper exam, it may take up to 12 hours for your results to be reflected on the online system.

If you have taken IELTS on computer exam, it may take up to 24 hours for your results to be reflected on the online system.

When the system is heavily used (it is a global system), you may receive an error message. Please try again at a different time of the day; and if you persist with error messages, please contact your test centre.

Can I collect my IELTS results from the test centre?

If you did not write the address on the envelope given to you on the test day, or if you selected the “I want to collect my results from the office” option, you can come to our offices in Istanbul (Harbiye) and Ankara (Ziya Gökalp), but please contact your test center first.

Can someone else take my results instead of me?

If you did not write the address on the envelope given to you on the test day, or if you selected the “I want to collect my results from the office” option, you can come to our offices in İstanbul (Harbiye) and Ankara (Ziya Gökalp).

If you want someone else to collect your result instead of you, you need to fill out the Authorization Form and send it to ielts.istanbul@idp.com or ielts.ankara@idp.com . After that, the authorized person can take your result by coming to the office with his/her ID or passport.

There is an error on my Test Report Form / my personal information is incorrect. What should I do?

If there is an error on your Test Report Form, please contact your IELTS test centre. The test centre will re-issue a new Test Report Form.

What should I do if I need extra Test Report Form or I lost/damaged my report?

When your IELTS results are announced you can receive only one (1) Test Report Form (TRF). If your TRF is lost or damaged or you need another Test Result Form, you need to fill out the Additional TRF Request Form and send it to ielts.istanbul@idp.com or ielts.ankara@idp.com. Each Test Result Form (TRF) fee costs 500 Turkish Liras. You can pay it by bank transfer. If you want it to be sent to your address, do not forget to pay the extra shipping fee specified in the form.

Can I re-sit the test?

Could there be human error in the marking process?

We see the human aspects of IELTS as being equally reliable as a computer-based marking and in some cases even advantageous to you as a test taker. In the IELTS Speaking test, for example, the examiner is listening to your level of skill and will adjust the level of difficulty of the questions to enable you to best demonstrate your ability. They can adjust their pace to suit you, and you can ask them to clarify or repeat a question. While you are responding, there is no limit or pressure, waiting to cut you off. These are aspects of IELTS that are not part of other English tests.

Who are IELTS examiners and how do they evaluate the tests?

There are specific qualifications and training that are required to become a certified Writing and Speaking examiner including: An UG degree in a related field, a recognized qualification in English language teaching(TESOL/TESL/TEFOL), at least 3 year's full time (or the equivalent of part time) relevant English-language teaching experience, with most of that time spent teaching adults.Before becoming a certified examiner, we must participate in standardized training conducted by an experienced examiner trainer. Part of the training includes showing that we can accurately and consistently mark Speaking and Writing exams based on specific criteria. Once certified, all examiners are regularly monitored to ensure we are consistently and accurately following the standards for marking exams. Examiners must also get re-certified every 2 years. In addition to consistently and accurately assessing candidates' speaking and writing, we are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the test, and ensuring the same procedures are followed for all candidates. Another part of our job as examiners is to ensure we maintain confidentiality and security in all aspects of IELTS.
