Pre-IELTS Exam
There is no age limit for IELTS; however it is not recommended for candidates under the age of 16.
The IELTS Academic test is suitable for those wanting to study in an English-speaking environment or university (higher education). You can also take IELTS Academic for professional registration purposes. The test measures if you are ready to begin studying in English. It features vocabulary that is familiar within an academic setting.
The IELTS General Training test is suitable for those applying to study below degree level. This includes an English-speaking school or college. It can also be taken for work experience or other employment training. IELTS General Training is also required for migration to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK. The test features everyday English language skills that you will need in social and workplace environments.
*However, if your destination is UK, you might need to take an IELTS for UKVI (UKVI Academi or UKVI General Training or UKVI Life Skills).

The only difference between IELTS on paper and IELTS on computer test is your test day experience. The test format, question types, time allocated to each test part and content is the same for both IELTS on computer and IELTS on paper test.
If you choose to complete your IELTS test on a computer, you will do the Reading, Listening, and Writing parts of the test using a computer. All answers will be typed on the screen.
In both IELTS on paper and IELTS on computer, the Speaking test is completed in a face-to-face interview with an IELTS examiner.
Both Academic and General Training consist of four sections: listening (30 minutes), reading (60 minutes), writing (60 minutes) and speaking (11-14 minutes).
However, IELTS UKVI for Life Skills will test only listening and speaking skills. The exam will be a conversation between two test takers and the session is conducted by an IELTS Examiner (16-22 minutes).

Post-IELTS Exam
In general, the result is valid for 2 years. However, each organisation or institution have vary condition accepting IELTS. Please check with your organisation that you want to apply.
IELTS on paper: your results will be available 13 days after you complete the test.
IELTS on computer: your results will be available 3-5 days after you complete the test.
Life Skills for UKVI: your results will be available 7 days after you complete the test.

If the test taker’s results have not been released within the relevant time frame and no result notification email has been received, a request to follow up on the test results may be submitted here.
If the test taker would like to change the method of receipt of the IELTS test report form, a request may be submitted here.
If someone else will be collecting your TRF for you, a signed copy of your proof of identity and a signed letter of authority (in English) must be given to our staff at the Registration Desk. The authorized person is also need to present their ORIGINAL Thai national ID card/passport to our staff. Again, photo copy or other types of identity (eg. driving license or government officer identification card) are NOT accepted
