Migrating to English-speaking countries often requires proof of English language proficiency, and IELTS is widely accepted in many countries.

Australia:

  • To migrate or work in Australia, you must demonstrate English language proficiency through IELTS.

  • The minimum required score is 4.5, but higher scores improve points in the immigration points system.

  • Both Academic and General Training versions are accepted for visa applications.

  • For professional registration or work in certain fields, IELTS Academic may be required.

New Zealand:

  • A minimum IELTS score of 3.5 is required to migrate to New Zealand, but higher scores enhance visa approval chances.

  • IELTS General Training is typically required for migration purposes.

  • If you plan to study or work in a specialized field, you may need to take IELTS Academic.

Canada:

  • Under the Express Entry program, a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, equivalent to CLB 7, is required.

  • IELTS General Training is accepted for visa and migration applications.

  • Higher scores increase your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, boosting migration chances.

United States:

  • While the US does not have direct IELTS score requirements for migration, IELTS is widely accepted by employers and educational institutions.

  • A strong IELTS score improves your prospects of finding work or pursuing further studies in the US.

United Kingdom:

  • To migrate to the UK, you must take IELTS for UKVI, a test designed for visa and immigration purposes.

  • Minimum score requirements vary depending on the visa type and purpose of migration.

  • Both Academic and General Training versions are available for UKVI.
