Parental Consent Form for IELTS Test Takers under 18s

Because IELTS registration for test takers under 18 years of age requires parental approval, IDP IELTS has updated the registration process for this group to enhance test taker safety, improve personal data protection, streamline auditability, and ensure a more convenient booking experience as follows:

Registration Steps for Minors (Under 18 Years Old)

To align with the digital consent process, the registration steps for test takers under 18 years old are as follows:

1. Age Confirmation Prompt

On the Speaking selection page, all test takers will see an age prompt with "I'm booking for myself (I am 18 or older)" set as the default option, and "I'm a parent or guardian booking for someone under 18" for registering test takers under 18 years old.

2. Registration Process for Test Takers Under 18

• The system will redirect to the minor booking flow, requiring a parent or legal guardian to complete the booking on behalf of the test taker.

• The parent/guardian must review and accept the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and IDV biometric consent (consent for biometric data collection for identity verification).

  

• The parent/guardian must enter their personal details, date of birth, relationship to the test taker, and phone number, then save the information to proceed with the booking.

3. Information Review and Standard Booking Completion

• The parent/guardian confirms the personal information provided.

• Proceed with the test fee payment and set up the test taker's account as usual to complete the booking.
