The most important thing to bring on the IELTS test day is your passport. If you book a paper-based test, you will also be asked to bring your resident certificate. Failure to present these documents will automatically lead to disqualification to sit the test. You will not be eligible to request a transfer nor refund.

The test staff will check your passport before you enter the room and your IELTS Speaking test examiner will check this once again. You don’t have to bring any passport photos on the test day, as the IELTS test centre will take your photo when you register. No stationery will be allowed. You can only use stationery provided by the Test Centre. All electronic devices will need to be switched off (not turned into the flight mode) and stored in designated areas before you enter the test room. You are only allowed to bring your passport and water in a transparent bottle into the test room. No other items will be allowed, including watches.

It is not recommended to bring any valuable items with you on the IELTS test day. Children or family members of test takers are not allowed to enter the IELTS test venue. If someone needs to wait for you, please ask them to wait outside the venue.
