Attention to all test takers planning to study, work, or immigrate to the UK! Due to a scheduled system upgrade, the IELTS for UKVI One Skill Retake (OSR) service will be temporarily suspended from Thursday, June 5 to Wednesday, August 6, 2025. The service will resume on Thursday, August 7.
If you have taken the IELTS for UKVI computer-delivered test on or after April 6, 2025, please make sure to plan ahead. You must complete your One Skill Retake before June 4, in order to avoid any delays in your UK visa application process.
⚠️ Please note: This service suspension applies only to the IELTS for UKVI One Skill Retake. Test takers of other computer-delivered IELTS tests are not affected and can still register for One Skill Retake during this period.
What is IELTS for UKVI?
IELTS for UKVI is designed for individuals who need to prove their English language proficiency for UK visa and immigration purposes, including study, work, or settlement. It is a Secure English Language Test (SELT) approved by the UK Home Office and is accepted for various visa applications.
Although the test content, format, level of difficulty, and scoring are the same as the regular IELTS test, there are a few key differences with IELTS for UKVI:
✅ Test Procedure: The test is fully monitored with video recording to meet UK Home Office security requirements.
✅ Test Report Form: You will receive a unique Test Report Form indicating that the test was taken at an official UKVI-approved test centre.
✅ Test Fee: Slightly higher than the regular IELTS due to enhanced test centre security and facilities.
