To ensure that minor test takers (under the age of 18) receive appropriate support and protection during the IELTS test, IDP IELTS Official Test Centres implemented the Child Protection Policy on 1 May 2023. After two and a half years of implementation and review, adjustments to this policy will be introduced.

Effective Date

From 28 January 2026, the updated policy will apply to all minor test takers and cover all IELTS test formats, including IELTS on Computer, IELTS for UKVI.

Speaking Test Supervision Arrangement

From the effective date, an invigilator will be present during the Speaking test for all minor test takers to accompany and supervise the test process.

The previous option allowing candidates to choose whether to accept supervision will be withdrawn from 28 January 2026, and all cases will be handled in accordance with this policy.

Required Documents for Registration and Test Day

Minor test takers are required to comply with the following:

  • Download and complete the document: Please download and complete the updated Consent Form for Minors, which must be signed by both the candidate and their parent/legal guardian.

  • Submit the original document on test day: The signed original consent form must be brought on the test day and submitted to the invigilator during check-in.

  • Failure to submit: Any minor test taker who fails to present the signed original Consent Form for Minors on the test day will not be permitted to sit the test.

Important Notice

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Minor candidates who do not bring the original signed Consent Form for Minors on the test day will not be allowed to enter the test venue.
