Here is what you need to know if you wish to reschedule or cancel your IELTS test.

For IELTS Academic and General Training (either Paper-based or Computer-delivered) rescheduling

Important notice:

  1. If you suffer from natural disasters, serious diseases, or any other incidents that make you unable to attend the test, please apply for a change of date/venue/module within 5 days after the test. You will need to present:

    1. Certificate of Diagnosis issued from public hospitals that can prove that you could not attend the test on the test date

    2. Notice of military service

    3. Funeral notice

  2. Please always use the application form provided on the website to apply for change of date/venue/module. Any verbal application will be invalid. If you apply for a change of date, you can only change your test to those that are already open for booking on the registration system.

  3. IDP IELTS will proceed your application once all the documents and payment are received.

  4. IDP IELTS retain the right to approve or disapprove your application.

  5. When encountering occasions such as natural disasters or wars, IDP IELTS retain the right to cancel or postpone the test.

How do I postpone or cancel my IELTS test?

Contact the test centre where you booked your test if you need to postpone or cancel.
If you cancel or postpone your test more than 5 weeks before the test date, you will receive a refund minus an administration fee.
If you cancel or postpone your test within 5 weeks of your test date, you will be charged the full fee unless you have a serious medical reason for needing to cancel or postpone it.
If you provide a medical certificate within 5 days of your test date, you will receive a refund minus the local administrative cost.
