IISMA is not just a scholarship, it is a doorway to the world. As a part of the Kampus Merdeka (Emancipated Learning) Program by Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, it is designed to support Indonesian students in pursuing higher education abroad, facilitating cultural exchange, and nurturing global citizens. 

Using a partial funding scheme between the government and the student, this program allows greater opportunity to Indonesians to study for a semester at host universities around the world. The program covers registration fees, tuition fees, and travel costs.

IISMA 2024 scholarships registration

IISMA registration has reopened for the year 2024. It started on January 23 and will continue until February 14, 2024. You can register yourself through IISMA website. However, before doing so, you must meet certain criteria for this scholarship. 

Eligibility for IISMA

Given the benefits provided, many Indonesian students consider this scholarship an excellent choice for their first step in embarking on an educational journey abroad. But there are specific criteria to meet to apply for IISMA. You must be 

  1. An active student registered at Higher Education Database (Pangkalan Data Pendidikan Tinggi – PDDIKTI). 

  2. An Indonesian citizen (WNI) currently residing in Indonesia and does not have dual citizenship. 

  3. Nominated by Indonesian universities (PTDN) or Indonesian Vocational School (PTPPV) signed by the Head of Study Program. 

  4. Not participating in other Kampus Merdeka programs at the same time. 

  5. Not have participated in more than one (1) Kampus Merdeka Program prior to the IISMA Co-funding program. 

  6. Submit adequate English proficiency, like IELTS or TOEFL. 

  7. An undergraduate student who are currently in the 4th or 6th semester of recognized universities in Indonesia; or Diploma 3 students who are currently in the 4th semester and Diploma 4 students who are currently in the 4th or 6th semester of the recognized universities with vocational programs in Indonesia. 

  8. Have a cumulative GPA of minimum 3.0 (out of 4.0) 

  9. Never have violated the rules, norms, and/or laws applied in Indonesia. 

  10. Willing to follow the rules and regulations during participating in IISMA.

Once you've confirmed your eligibility, the next step is to understand the registration process. To assist you, we have provided a step-by-step guide for IISMA 2024 registration. 

  1. Visit the IISMA website

  2. Select ‘Apply for IISMA undergraduate’ if you’re an undergraduate student or click ‘Apply for IISMA vocational’ if you’re a vocational student. 

  3. Create an account or log in if you’ve registered before. 

  4. After successfully logging in, click ‘Register now’. 

  5. Choose your degree accordingly to continue. 

  6. Complete all necessary information in the form. 

  7. Upload the required documents. 

  8. Answer the essay question, then finish your application. 

Prepare your IELTS result to qualify for IISMA scholarship 2024
