Pre IELTS Exam

Is there any age limit for IELTS?

There is no age limit for IELTS. However, it is not recommended for candidates under the age of 16.

What is the difference between IELTS on paper and IELTS on computer?

The difference between the IELTS on Paper test and the IELTS on Computer test lies in your experience on the test day and time to get the test results.

IELTS on Paper test results can be received 13 days after the test, while IELTS on Computer results can be received between 3 – 5 days after the test.

The format of the test, the types of questions, the time allocated for each part of the test and the content will be the same for the IELTS on Computer and IELTS on Paper tests.

Test Format

Both Academic and General Training consist of four sections: listening (30 minutes), reading (60 minutes), writing (60 minutes) and speaking (11-14 minutes).

However, IELTS UKVI for Life Skills will test only listening and speaking skills. The exam will be a conversation between two test takers and the session is conducted by an IELTS Examiner (16-22 minutes).

Post-IELTS Exam

How long are my IELTS results valid?

In general, the result is valid for 2 years. However, each organisation or institution has varied conditions for accepting IELTS. Please check with your organisation that you want to apply.

When to get IELTS results?

IELTS on Paper: your results will be available 13 days after you complete the test.
IELTS on Computer: your results will be available 3-5 days after you complete the test.
Life Skills for UKVI: your results will be available 7 days after you complete the test.

How to get IELTS results?

· Collect the original Test Report Form (TRF) at IDP IELTS Offices.
· Postal Mail (applies ONLY where no IDP Office is available in town).
· Preview IELTS Results Online.

What to do when I want to change the method of receipt of the IELTS test report form?

If the test taker would like to change the method of receipt of the IELTS test report form, you will need to send email to ielts.indonesia@idp.com and provide your details and the test date.

Can somebody get IELTS result on my behalf?

If someone else will be collecting your TRF for you, a signed copy of your proof of identity and a signed letter of authority (in English) must be given to our staff at the Registration Desk. The authorized person is also needed to present their ORIGINAL Indonesian national ID card/passport to our staff. Again, photocopy or other types of identity (eg. driving license or government officer identification card) are NOT accepted.

What can I do if I am not happy with my test results?

You can apply for a review of your band scores (called an Enquiry on Results) at your test centre within six weeks of the test date.

You must pay an enquiry fee, which is fully refunded if your band score changes. If your band score changes, you will be issued a new Test Report Form (TRF).
