Cover all three bullet points fully and maintain an appropriate tone. Include the purpose of the letter at the start and include all the correct conventions and format (although the dates and the address are not needed).

It is important to mention all the categories and divisions but you don't need to include every figure. Concentrate more on the key features and group all the non-essential categories together briefly.

Yes, your IELTS results are a testament of your English language proficiency. You can submit your IELTS Test Report Form to multiple institutions or organisations, including universities, immigration authorities, and professional bodies. You don't need to take a new IELTS test for each application. When you take IELTS on computer, you can download your own Test Report Form in PDF-file format and share this with as many organisations are you require.

When you’re thinking about applying for Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada, you can use either IELTS or CELPIP as proof of English language proficiency. What are the main differences? - IELTS on computer results are typically available in 1 day. With CELPIP, you have to wait up to 4 business days and at busier times up to 10 business days. If you need your results fast, IELTS is the better choice. - CELPIP is primarily available in Canada, with a few locations in India, the UAE, the USA, and the Philippines. IELTS is available worldwide, which makes it more accessible. - IELTS is trusted by over 12,500 government bodies, universities, and professional regulators around the world. CELPIP lists less than 200 organisations on its website that accept the test. If you want a test that is more trusted, choose IELTS.

IELTS is trusted by more than 12,500 organisations around the world. And all these organisations set their own entry requirements. That means that the minimum IELTS scores you require for a visa in Australia can be different than the minimum scores you need for a visa in Canada or New Zealand. It also means that different universities have different IELTS score requirements. So, always check with the institution with the organisation where you want to use your IELTS results what the requirements are.

A maximum of one skill of the IELTS test can be retaken for each full IELTS test. That means you cannot request a second IELTS One Skill Retake on the same test. If you wish to improve your IELTS score in more than one skill, you will need to book a complete IELTS test (all four skills).

No, you don’t have to take IELTS One Skill Retake at the same centre where you did your original test. You can choose any IELTS test centre that also offers One Skill Retake. No, you don’t have to provide a reason to take IELTS One Skill Retake. Some people retake a single skill because they just missed out on the score they were aiming for. Others retake a skill because they just want to get a higher score. As long as you've taken IELTS on computer, you can see the option of IELTS One Skill Retake in your IELTS account up to 60 days after your test date. Just remember, you can only take IELTS One Skill Retake up to 60 days after your full test date.

With IELTS, you get approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes to show your English skills. We know your results are important, which is why we allow you plenty of time to take your test. You don’t need to rush. Other tests, such as PTE and TOEFL require you to complete the full test (listening, reading, writing and speaking) in just two hours. For example, IELTS gives you 1 hour to show your writing skills. With PTE you need to complete both your writing and speaking tests combined in abour 1 hour. TOEFL only allows you about 29 minutes for the writing test. If you have to rush, you could make more mistakes. So, taking a longer test might be a good choice.

Some IELTS test centres offer for your Speaking test to take place via video-call. In this case, your Speaking test examiner will not be in the same test room as you, but instead, you’ll speak with them via a video call in a private test room at your centre. You get a noise-cancelling headset and do your Speaking test on a high-definition video call with a human examiner. All aspects of the Speaking test will remain the same, including the question types, timing and marking. So, doing a video-call Speaking test is not easier or more difficult.

IELTS for UKVI is the same as the ‘regular’ IELTS test. You get a band score for your Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking English proficiency level. The question types, timing, and marking criteria for are also the same. However, IELTS for UKVI (sometimes also called SELT) has some additional security features required by the UK Government. You’ll also see a unique UKVI reference number on your test report form, along with the CEFR equivalent for each band score component. IELTS also offers another special test for the UK, called IELTS Life Skills. IELTS Life Skills only tests your Speaking and Listening proficiency (not Reading and Writing) against a common European standard, the CEFR Levels A1, A2 and B1. IELTS Life Skills is designed to meet the requirements of UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) for certain visa categories.
