How to cancel your IELTS test?
Log in via the Candidate Login section.
If your test date is 15–34 days away, submit a cancellation request with supporting documents.
If your test date is 34+ days away (online payment), you can cancel by simply stating a reason.
Click the ‘Upload’ button to attach documents.
Wait for the acknowledgment pop-up.
The IELTS team will contact you within 3 working days to confirm.
Once approved, your refund will be processed in 10–12 working days, minus administrative charges.
IELTS Test Refund Rules
1. Cancelling 5 Weeks Ahead
Cancel 5+ weeks before test day → Refund = Test fee – 25% administrative fee.
2. Cancelling Within 5 Weeks
Cancel within 5 weeks → No refund unless special circumstances apply.
If approved for special circumstances → Refund = Test fee – 25% administrative fee.
Special Circumstances for Refund
Refunds may be granted if you provide evidence (within 5 days) that you are unable to take the test due to:
Serious illness – hospital admission, serious injury
Loss or bereavement – death of a close family member
Hardship or trauma – victim of a crime or traffic accident
Military service
Required Documentation
When applying, attach:
Medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner
Death certificate or notice
Police report
Any other official proof related to your claim

Download the Request for Refund or Test Day Transfer Form.
Complete the form and attach required documents.
Submit to the test centre where you booked your test.
Refund approval will be confirmed by email.
Fill in the refund request form sent via email.
Processing takes 3–4 weeks.
Important Notes
Failing to appear on test day without notifying the centre → No refund.
To retake the test, you must register and pay again.
