All written tests (listening, reading and writing components) of paper-based IELTS will be held on Saturday mornings (from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm). A few test sessions will be arranged on Thursday occasionally.

Speaking tests mainly will be held either in the afternoon after the written tests (from 1:15 pm to 7:00 pm) or on the following day (Sunday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm). It may also be held in any weekday.
Each candidate is allocated a speaking time slot of 20 minutes.
Candidate will be notified the exact speaking time upon receiving the confirmation of registration. (Subject to change)

IDP Education IELTS tests are generally held in hotels, schools and conference centers. The venues are mostly located on Hong Kong Island (including: Central, Wanchai, Causeway Bay, etc.) and Kowloon (including: Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui, Yau Ma Tei, etc.).

We have noticed some online advertisements on several social media sites claim to provide services for IELTS test takers, such as registering for IELTS, collection of results and making arrangements for a re-mark of the test. We advise all potential IELTS test takers to avoid using such services that are not directly affiliated to IELTS. Once you’ve submitted your IELTS application, it’s time to start preparing. * Please Note: results for IELTS on computer tests are typically available within 3-5 days from finishing all components of the test. Candidates are required to collect IELTS results with provision of the above said documents at the IDP Hong Kong office according to the advised collection schedule (from 10:30am to 12:30pm). Candidates may also preview the provisional IELTS results online (https://ielts.idp.com/results/check-your-result/) on the result release day. Please note that if it falls on a Sunday or a public holiday - the result release day will be postponed to the next working day. In the event that results are not available on the scheduled date, candidates will receive a notification.
