What can I do with IELTS?
For over 30 years, students, aspiring immigrants, and jobseekers looking to embark on their overseas journey to native English-speaking countries have placed their trust in IELTS.
Wondering what to do after obtaining your IELTS results? Here you go:
IELTS for work
After your IELTS test, a variety of career opportunities in English speaking countries will be open to you. There are many different professional bodies that ask for an IELTS score for registration in the industry. These professions include teaching, medicine, law, or engineering to name a few.
If you are a working professional, you have two options for IELTS, General Training or Academic. You should check with the organization directly which is needed.
IELTS for study
If you plan to study in higher education or are seeking professional registration, the IELTS Academic test is for you unless otherwise specified by your institution. So, after sitting the IELTS test, your scores will determine whether you are ready to begin studying or training in an environment where English is the language used.
The IELTS General Training test assesses your English language proficiency in a practical, everyday context so if you plan to study in a high school or vocational training program, this is likely to be the test for you. Always check with the institution or organization that is going to accept your scores.
IELTS for migration
IELTS is accepted as evidence of English language proficiency for study, work and migration in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK.
Each country sets its own IELTS requirements. The score you need depends on your visa, and where you plan to study or work.
