Your IELTS results are a crucial part of your journey towards achieving your academic or professional goals. Released 13 days after the test date, IELTS test results reflect your proficiency in English across four key areas: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Each section is scored individually, and the scores are then averaged to give an overall band score. Understanding your IELTS exam results can help you identify your areas for improvement and guiding your future preparation.
Test type | Your IELTS results are available within |
---|---|
IELTS on Paper | 13 days |
IELTS on Computer | 1 - 5 days |

A copy of your IELTS result is known as the Test Report Form (TRF). Each candidate is issued only one IELTS test report form, which is valid for two years. You will only receive one copy of your TRF, unless you are applying to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), or the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) – in this case, you can receive two.
The TRF number is available on the Test Report Form you receive and through the unofficial online result displayed at the top of the page.
You can get additional TRFs from your test centre beyond the first five TRFs that issued your results. An administration fee may be charged for the additional TRFs. If you lose your TRF, you’ll have to contact the test centre to report the issue.
